THE COLLIE – OF OLD, AT PRESENT AND IN THE FUTURE Important information for everybody with an interest in the breed and for those who think about buying a puppy This is a private web site. Its only aim is to introduce the Collie as a breed, with its good qualities and its disadvantages, in a manner that attracts active dog lovers. Anybody looking for fanciful descriptions of its merits may look elsewhere. We are trying to outline the background and the development of the breed for the visitor to understand how the Collie came to be what it is today – and how be believe it can continue. We recommend no breeders. Under no circumstances will any present-day individual breeders or dogs be commented on. We are members of the Swedish National breed club, in agreement with its statutes and aims, but any opinion expressed here is ours only, not that of the Swedish Collie Club or of any other organization. Gun Andersson is a former breeder of Rough Collies, with some thirtyfive years of experience. Wanda Forsberg, the page web master, is an active breeder of Rough Collies since thirty years. Bodil Carlsson has owned and loved Collies for more than twenty years. We know the Collie as a healthy, stable and pleasant breed. That is how we want it to remain. Bodil, Gun and webmaster Wanda |
